Carolina Design Group was founded in 1998 by president and owner Jim Phelps. The firm continues to grow and has designed over 1,000 custom home plans for homebuilders and individuals in prestigious communities across the country. Our designs have won top awards at designer home shows on both a local and national level and our designers are continually honored with industry awards recognizing their talents. Other services include hardscape design, space planning, and interior design.

The entire design team at Carolina Design Group, from the lead designers and design assistants, to draftsmen and office staff, uses the combined expertise and dedication of each member to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations.

	Jim Phelps President/Creative Director Jim Phelps is an award-winning designer and founder of Carolina Design Group. A child art prodigy, he grew up in a family of designers and builders where his love for design was instilled at an early age. Passionate and driven, Jim’s first home design was built when he was 18 years old. His designs have graced the pages of numerous trade and lifestyle magazines and have been awarded multiple building industry accolades.
	Rob Foster Lead Designer Originality lies at the core of every home design that comes from the mind of Rob Foster. With a career that spans more than 20 years, Rob brings wisdom, creativity and practicality to each project. He designs custom homes that can define a neighborhood and set the tone for a lifestyle.
	Trisha Chambers Lead Designer High standards and contagious enthusiasm are outstanding traits of Trisha Chambers. Trisha upholds our philosophy of design development based on creativity, aesthetics and function. She holds a Bachelors of Art degree in Architecture from the State University of New York-Buffalo, and is also a certified Interior Designer and member of ASID.
	Ashley Jimenez Designer It is Ashley’s organizational skills and design talents that have allowed her to quickly earn the respect of her peers and clients. Her knack for translating verbal thoughts and ideas into a finished product is why she is such an outstanding asset to our design team. Ashley earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Interior Design from West Virginia University.
